Maynard has played very well the last two weekends at Michigan State and this weekend at his future home, Oakland University. At one point he was involved in all but two of Lake Orion's 19 points in a game against Warren De La Salle. He hit three shots from beyond the arc, added two dunks, and set up teammates for two lay-ups.
Chapman and the Mustangs 15u won their 5th Tournament of the year and first championship beyond MI. A loss in pool play knocked them into the Silver Bracket @ the Spiece Memorial Day Weekend Classic.

The best passing pg from MI. in quite some time? He's only a Sophomore but, before it's all said and done... The Hurricanes 17u played in The Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions (N. Carolina.)
One can see by the double team, that the 6'4 Henevold '09 is a thorn in his opponents side. The Lakers 16u lost in the 16u semi-finals to the eventual S.M.D.W. Silver Division winners, the Indiana-Elite 16u.
The 5'9 Ford '09 plays for Detroit Cody, #2 for the REACH Legends is 6'5 Grant Stone '08 of Plymouth-Salem (MI.), and #12 for the REACH Laegends is 6'1 Demetrius Ward '08 of Detroit Pershing.
6'7 forward Jordan Morgan (Detroit-Jesuit '09) collects the rebound for the Mustangs-Allison 16u team. King James Shooting Stars Classic 4-30-06
Cockrell recently returned from an ankle injury and is a big body for the GR Storm 17u team.

Demetrius Ford '09 handles the ball for the
Hurricanes 15u in the Championship game vs.
the REACH Legends.
Knott is a heady point guard who knows when to attack and he also plays in your face defense, without the fouls. Reyes is one of the state's highest flyers bust he can also burn the nets with the three ball. He showed a knack for posting up in the opener vs. Wayne Memorial.

Holt Stands Strong; The Pioneer’s Knight

By TJ Kelley/www.insideprepsports.net           3/14/07

Lansing, MI.- Familiar teams in the Lansing area again advanced
through their district to make their regional presence in Lansing
Eastern’s Don Johnson Fieldhouse. This regional has produced
Class A state finalists over the last three seasons including two
champions.  The past two, a runner-up Okemos and the ’04-‘05
Champion’s Holt, were on hand this Tuesday evening as Holt took
on the upstart Giant Maroons of Kalamazoo Central in the opener
and the Chiefs battled Ann Arbor Pioneer in the night cap.  And
the local teams brought their fans to one of the largest seating
facilities in Michigan prep basketball.

Warren, MI.- When, Detroit Country Day and Detroit Renaissance
meet in what seems to be a yearly playoff battle the crowds are
intense, player’s emotions run high, and these two teams usually
meet in the quarterfinals but, things have changed in 2007.  So,
the two rivals meet up in a Regional semi-final and the goal is the
same win.

Troy, MI.- Standing Room Only!!! A full house packed into Troy
High School’s (My guestimation) 2,500 seat gymnasium to take
part in Class A’s #6 Regional Final between two of the state’s
best, Pontiac Northern and Orchard Lake St. Mary’s.  Adding,
intensity to the game O.L.S.M. ended Northern’s season a playoff
ago and the teams may have kicked off an official rivalry Friday
evening as emotions ran high in this battle to take another step
closer to the State Championship in E. Lansing, MI.

Michigan’s Mr. Basketball Candidates

By TJ Kelley/www.insideprepsports.net                3/16/07

In the past, each and every senior playing basketball in Michigan
had the opportunity to claim the Hank Schram Mr. Basketball
Award as the state’s top senior as voted on by members of the
Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan.  A vast majority of
those seniors gained notoriety as sophomores or juniors and by
the end of the voting 10-15 deserved candidates would find the
ballot.

Half of the Class A semi-final bracket was decided at the
University of Detroit’s Calihan Hall Tuesday night and both games
were worth the price of admission.  In fact, five dollars were worth
two games and the crowds grew as the clock pushed into the
early stages of the opener, Detroit Redford vs. Detroit Osborn,
and the capper, Pontiac Northern vs. Warren De LaSalle, neared
5,000 people.
