Detroit, MI.- Another spring of AAU basketball is among us and the national litmus tests and statewide tournaments loom in search of the best teams and players.

This is the time where an A.A.U. program depends on players to attend a weekly or bi-weekly practice and weekend tournaments while players look to improve under their A.A.U. coaches and attend tournaments that gather the attendance of college coaches.  This is a win-win situation when both parties are on the same page from day one.

Initiative is a key for both parties as coaches benefit player and program by contacting college coaches and players can work on their game because unlike high school, practice isn’t every day.  When and where ever coaches, parents, and players attend tournaments we should all remember that we represent the jerseys, cities, family, and states that we are associated with.  From April through May, every weekend is consumed by tournaments and every program is sure to run into some of the nation’s best competition on their quest to show their medal.

Starting its third year, Inside Preps Sports is providing coverage of tournaments weekend in and weekend out and the schedule is looking good as the New Balance Ohio Gators Tournament tip things off in ’08 with their tournament in Toledo, OH.  There are 14 teams from Michigan and 21 from Ohio in four different age brackets and the games start on Friday, April 4th at Whitmer High School and Washington Junior High.  Expect interviews with top recruits, recruiting news, and game coverage by Inside Prep Sports in this tournament as well as others throughout the spring and summer.

Look for statewide and national coverage on Inside Prep Sports as the I.P.S. network grows throughout the spring and summer.

Oh, yeah.  It’s free.
