Detroit, MI.- The Central Michigan University coaching staff picked up their fourth commitment in the last two months after a call from Detroit Loyola’s 6’8 2010 power forward Jevon Harden last night.

Harden transferred to Loyola this year after spending his first three years at River Rouge (MI.) High School and saw his first bit of A.A.U. basketball with Team Detroit 17u this past spring and summer.  He is extremely athletic and is losing the raw touch, which Inside Prep Sports had previously noted him for.

Loyola’s head coach, John Buscemi, credits Harden’s improvement to “working hard in the gym every day.”  Buscemi also adds, “He can now finish with either hand, has a newfound drop-step going to his left, and a solid spin finished with a left-handed hook shot.”

Jevon’s is mentally focused and has set goals by stating, “I am not satisfied!  My goal is to be the #1 power forward/center in the state, win a state championship (Class C), and make the dream team.”

Harden attended Inside Prep Sports’ Super 80 camp in Lansing this past September and is currently Inside Prep Sports’ #5 power forward in Michigan’s 2010 class.

Team Detroit’s 17u coach Shawn Locke contacted Inside Prep Sports in the last high school season with a solid report after seeing Harden for the first time.
