Detroit, MI.- School starts this week and the player shake up has settled. The destinations of Detroit Finney players have been a hot topic in Michigan and leave it to Inside Prep Sports to fill you in on who's going where. Also a few other players have relocated and the public will now know what college coaches in contact with Inside Prep Sports have known for days, weeks, and months.
Finney Players Landed
The renovation of Detroit Finney this year prompted what seemed to be a mass exodus to Detroit Community in June and July. In the inevitable words of Bart Simpson, "Contrair Mo Frair" as the school year starts and things aren't what they seem. Inside Prep Sports' caught up with Detroit Denby's coach Chuck Albright and former Finney player 6'5 2010 wing Isaiah Sykes on Sunday to confirm who was attending Detroit's East Side school located a few miles away from Finney. Call it Christmas in July for Albright as Sykes along with 6'6 2010 power forward Brandon Williams, and 6' 2010 guard Rashad Reeves join Denby's 6'3 2010 wing Derrick Barden to bolster a lineup that could challenge for a state title run. The Finney transfers more than likely will not have to sit because of their former school's makeover.
Detroit Osborn is bolstered to make a run as they have added former Finney wing Terrance Jackson…they call him TJ so you know this 6'3 2010 athlete can ball. Add in 2012 wing Dayzshawn Crim and 2012 point guard Tommy Bell and you have a reason to believe the Knights have a to upset teams as they did two years ago with Solomon Farris, DeJuan Plummer, and Raphael Riley.
The discussion this spring over where Detroit Southeastern's 6'5 2011 wing Brandan Kearney and 6'7 2011 power forward Percy Gibson would attend school this year was National Enquirish as they're not going anywhere. However, former Detroit Finney 5'11 2011 guard Ed Brown will join the Jungaleers. George Ward is back in Detroit as the Head Coach of Southeastern.
