Detroit, MI.- With the NCAA’s national signing period looming seniors are making accepting offers to take pressures off their shoulders as well college coaches. A short time ago one Detroit’s post players made a decision to head south.

Detroit Cass Tech is rich across the board and recently their 6’8 senior center Shannon Williams chose Morehead State with High Point, Army, and Cleveland State keeping watch.  Williams is a physical post player who runs the floor well.  He finishes above the rim consistently and is a strong rebounder.  Improving his mid-range game will help evolve into more of a power forward on the next level.

Inside Prep Sports caught up to Cass Tech head coach David Dixon and he mentioned, “They’re (Morehead State Coaches) looking for him to play the four and five.”

Last year the Eagles made their first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 25-years and won the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.  Head Coach Donnie Tyndal has Michigan roots and played high school basketball at Grand Rapids Northview in the 20th Century.

Williams is a four-year varsity player for the Technicians and played A.A.U. for The Family and the Detroit Fire.
