Detroit, MI.- Michigan is averaging a player a week committing to the NCAA’s division one level since September started and expect many more especially with Detroit Southeastern’s 6’6 guard Brandan Kearney ‘11 choosing a decision date by November 3rd.

In recent weeks, Clarkston’s 6’7 small forward Matt Kamieneicki ’10 chose Ball State over rival MAC school Western Michigan.  He’s been noted by Inside Prep Sports as one of the state’s best defenders as he guards the perimeter and interior well while sticking his nose into aggressive players to take the charge.  He has improved his game offensively as he will step into corners and knock down the three adding versatility to his post game.  He also had an offer from IPFW.

Last week, 6’9 power forward Walter Pickford ’10 chose the Big East and Depaul University.  He runs the floor extremely well and made a big impression in Las Vegas with Team Detroit’s championship run.  He has a solid mid-range game with solid passing abilities.  Depaul is the fourth Michigan player to join the Blue Demons over the last five years; Pershing’s Jabari Currie, Benton Harbor’s Wilson Chandler, and Saginaw Arthur Hill’s Dar Tucker are the others.

Most recently, E. Grand Rapids 6’8 skilled power forward Colin Voss ’10 decided to stay closer to home and attend Central Michigan.  The Chippewas picked up a 240-pound beast with the ability to create for himself, step back and hit the three-pointer, rebound, run the floor like a rhino, and finish like a gorilla.  Voss is also an all-state defensive end and tight end on the gridiron.
